Imagine you’ve made the decision to add a hydro massage bed to your business. Fast forward to the day when the bed is finally delivered and installed. You’ve done the proper pre-marketing, told all your customers about it, and have a line of people excited to use it for the first time. What could be the worst case scenario?
Well, if you have a bed with the wrong cooling system, you’ll probably have a lot of unhappy customers on your hands because your bed overheated and stopped working.
Here’s the problem: Any hydro massage bed that is powerful enough to offer deep-tissue massage constantly generates a tremendous amount of heat. The heat is primarily due to the friction which results from a heavy force of water coming in contact with the rubber membrane. There is just no getting around this without breaking the laws of physics (and still offering a deep-tissue massage).
So, In order to prevent the water temperature from getting dangerously high, most hydro massage beds come equipped with one of two primary types of cooling systems.
In order to save you a lot of potential grief and headaches, here is a quick guide to help you understand which cooling system best fits your needs:
Internal, Radiator Cooling System Sufficient |
External Chiller System Recommended |
|
How many people will use the hydro massage bed per hour? |
2 users or less per hour |
3 or more users per hour |
How large is the room for the hydro massage bed? |
40’ x 40’ or larger |
Smaller than 40’ x 40’ |
Is there a thermostat installed in the room with the hydro massage bed? |
Yes |
Yes or No |
Can you have an A/C vent aimed directly at the cooling system? |
Yes |
Yes or No |
You can see that you’ll likely be just fine with a radiator system if your projected use is very low, your room size is very large, or you have a thermostat in the room with a vent directed at the cooling system.
If that is not the case, we strongly recommend you opt for an external cooling system. These systems give you much more flexibility, and the additional cost is really not much compared to the peace of mind in knowing that your hydromassage bed will not overheat and stop working during the busiest (and most profitable) times of day.
In addition to HydroMassage, there is only one other manufacturer that offers an external cooling system.
*Important: When speaking with hydro massage references, always remember to inquire about the bed’s ability to maintain temperature and not overheat during busy times of the day.
Our Goal = Creating the very best massage experience possible so your customers will want to return to your business again and again to use HydroMassage.
